Last Christmas (2019) is a romantic comedy set in the festive streets of London, inspired by the music of George Michael and Wham! Emilia Clarke stars as Kate, a young woman whose life has fallen apart in the year following a serious illness. Working as an elf in a year-round Christmas shop owned by 'Santa,' played by Michelle Yeoh, Kate meets the enigmatic Tom, played by Henry Golding, whose warmth and optimism challenge her to reconsider her life choices. Co-written by Emma Thompson, who also delivers a scene-stealing performance as Kate's immigrant mother, Last Christmas weaves George Michael's beloved songs, including the iconic title track, into a story about gratitude, generosity, and second chances that builds to a twist ending audiences never forget.
